Adam Marvel
Director of Operations, USA
Adam Marvel is responsible for developing and setting up Kings Colleges locations throughout the U.S. As acting Director of Kings L.A., he oversees all aspects of the college and works with students to give them the best possible educational and social experience while in Hollywood.
“I started in international education as a Peace Corps volunteer for two years in Ukraine teaching business and marketing at a university. Upon returning to the U.S., I began managing a language school in Seattle and enjoyed developing programmes that helped international students succeed in the U.S. higher education system. I’m thrilled to be working with Kings to take their same high standards from their UK colleges and apply those in new U.S. locations.
“Kings Los Angeles is truly an amazing college. I have managed other language schools in the L.A. area before and can honestly say Kings is quite unique. The location in Hollywood is exceptional, having a stand-alone building with indoor-outdoor space captures the essence of L.A. living, and the way we’re developing programmes that incorporate the entertainment industry surrounding the college is exciting.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time hiking and camping up and down the west coast, cooking, and working on home remodeling/design. I also play the drums and a few other musical instruments and have a diverse taste in music. All great hobbies and interests for the L.A. area and am happy to help students explore these and other interests in L.A.!”
Marcel Bolintiam
Director of Studies
"Born in southern California and raised in Europe - Sicily, Spain, and England - I developed a passion for languages and travel at an early age. After graduating from college, I went on to earn a master of city planning from the University of Pennsylvania and spent eight years in the corporate rat race of Washington, DC. I finally broke free of the golden handcuffs and embarked on a walkabout to several different continents where I discovered the world of teaching English as a foreign language.
With my TEFL certificate in hand, I headed for the central highlands of Querétaro, Mexico where I taught students of all ages at Bridge Institute. I returned to the U.S. with a new passion and a life-affirming career change. Since that time, I have been Director of ESL for the Knox School in St James, N.Y.; a New York City public school teacher in the South Bronx; and a lecturer in English at the University of Denver. I recently earned my second Masters in TESOL Education from the City University of New York.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking the canyons with my Wheaten Terrier "Ruskin," camping with friends, and kayaking in the ocean. I am thrilled to continue this adventure with Kings Colleges LA and I look forward to working with all of you."
Holly McKee-Clark
Housing Manager
"I'm Holly McKee-Clark and I've been brought on by Kings to be the Housing Manager for the new Los Angeles branch. I was born and raised in the wintry, cheese-loving land of Wisconsin. I graduated with a B.A. in German and International Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2007, after which I moved to Los Angeles to be nearer to my sister.
I enjoy hiking in Los Angeles' many parks and forests, playing tennis, traveling and taking various classes, which currently include Spanish and improv. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you all, in person or from afar."
Joseph De La Torre
Senior Admissions Manager
Joe's role is to oversee the admissions for Kings Colleges in the U.S. and he works closely with agents to ensure a quick and efficient turnaround for all students applying.
‘I am from Southern California and have worked in international admissions for six years. Immediately after graduating from the University of Southern California, I went to work for Kaplan in their international admissions department. Before long, I moved to New York to manage the admissions department there and then returned to Los Angeles to oversee the entire U.S. admissions staff. I have worked with agents and students from almost every country and have made many friends with international colleagues. I came to Kings to start a new adventure and I'm looking forward to growing together!’
